Senior Consultant in Audit

About the role

EY is hiring a Senior Consultant in Audit for its Assurance team in Riga. The role involves completing audit processes, directing field work and supervising junior team members, while maintaining close contact with audit clients throughout the year.

Key responsibilities

• Complete audit processes and document higher-risk areas such as financial instruments, income taxes, impairment of assets, provisions and other matters, delivering quality audit services to clients and their stakeholders.
• Help plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses risk appropriately.
• Direct field work, manage engagement economics and inform supervisors of the engagement status.
• Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and adjust it when needed.
• Supervise junior engagement team members by delegating audit tasks and giving guidance.
• Build and maintain working relationships with audit client personnel, assess client satisfaction and stay in regular contact with clients throughout the year.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proven experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
• Track record of leading, planning, executing and reporting on audits.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques and experience across the entire audit process.
• Application of IFRS and local GAAP.
• Understanding of risk-based auditing, risk and control strategies, and Q&RM procedures.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management.
