About the role

The Economic Services Department of a children’s hospital is looking for a proactive leader to organise and supervise daily operations, ensure material and technical supply, and manage procurement and waste processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the department’s work priorities and team activities.
• Guarantee availability of materials, inventory, furniture and other resources for hospital units.
• Organise purchases, prepare technical specifications and evaluate supplier offers.
• Monitor contract execution, delivery quality, volumes and deadlines.
• Oversee building maintenance, seasonal works and facility upgrades.
• Manage waste handling, including sorting, accounting, storage and hand‑over to waste operators, and prepare related documentation.
• Plan and control the department’s budget, monitor expenditures and optimise resource use.
• Identify operational risks and improve processes for continuous, uninterrupted service.
• Prepare reports, proposals and collaborate with internal units, suppliers and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Higher education, preferably technical, managerial or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in facilities, infrastructure or comparable management.
• Proven experience in procurement, technical specification drafting and contract monitoring.
• Knowledge of waste management procedures and related documentation.
• Familiarity with VVD reporting is an advantage.
• Strong digital competence with document and accounting systems.
• Excellent Latvian language skills and ability to work independently.
