Planning Department Manager – Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

Airline Support Baltic is seeking an experienced Planning Department Manager to lead the planning function for aircraft maintenance projects. You will ensure that maintenance work packages, schedules, and resources are accurately defined and coordinated across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Planning team, setting clear priorities and performance expectations.
• Create and maintain work packages based on approved maintenance programs and customer scope.
• Prepare detailed project schedules, including manpower, materials, tooling, and estimated man‑hours.
• Manage the rolling 6/3/1‑month maintenance schedule and project slot dates.
• Coordinate with Production, Logistics, HR and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Identify personnel licensing and rating requirements in advance.
• Monitor plan‑versus‑actual performance, analyse deviations and adjust planning norms.
• Maintain planning standards, processes, task norms and estimating methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with EASA Part‑145 requirements and company procedures.
• Produce regular planning and workload reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of MRO operations and EASA Part‑145 production planning requirements.
• Proven analytical ability to work with historical project data and improve planning accuracy.

Required skills

• Experience with the Wings planning/production management system or a comparable tool.
• Working knowledge of EASA Part‑145 regulations.
