Onboarding Specialist – AML & Compliance

About the role

Transferra is looking for a detail‑oriented Onboarding Specialist to lead the AML and compliance journey for new business clients in Riga. You will act as the first line of defence, ensuring only legitimate companies join our multi‑currency platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct corporate onboarding (KYB) by reviewing constitutional documents and complex UBO structures across global jurisdictions.
• Perform identity verification (KYC) for directors, shareholders and authorized users in line with regulatory standards.
• Assign initial risk ratings based on business models, geographic reach and projected transaction volumes.
• Carry out enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high‑risk industries, verifying source of funds and source of wealth.
• Screen new entities and individuals against sanctions, PEP and adverse media lists, managing alerts to resolution.
• Communicate with prospective clients to gather compliance information and collaborate with Sales and Support for a smooth onboarding experience.
• Help optimise the fully digital onboarding flow, translating regulatory changes into automated verification steps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Economics or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in AML/Compliance, preferably within payment services.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulations in the UK and EU.
• Excellent analytical abilities to detect subtle irregularities.
• Fluent verbal and written English.
