Head of Engineering Pillar

About the role

Mintos is looking for a Head of Engineering Pillar to lead one of two domain pillars in its engineering organisation. You will manage 20‑30 engineers across backend, frontend, QA and test automation, focusing on people management, capacity planning and organisational health.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full people‑management lifecycle: 1:1s, performance reviews, career development, compensation inputs, onboarding and difficult conversations.
• Assemble and re‑compose cross‑functional delivery teams, allocate capacity and balance growth with delivery demands.
• Act as hiring manager for all engineering roles in the pillar, designing the process, setting the bar and making hiring decisions.
• Participate in architecture reviews and RFCs as a stakeholder, flagging capacity risks and helping Tech Leads evaluate trade‑offs.
• Provide the CTO with structured visibility into pillar health, hiring pipeline, capacity and risks.

Required profile

• Professional background in software engineering with experience shipping software.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership or people‑management roles, managing 15+ engineers across multiple teams.
• Demonstrated ability to own the full people‑management cycle and work in a role‑separated model.
• Direct, low‑formality communication style and strong English communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices or event‑driven architectures.
