Finance & Accounting Lead – Business Central, AI & Latvian Tax

About the role

We are a Latvia‑based startup building a finance function that blends accurate accounting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and AI automation. You will own the entire accounting process, configure the ERP system and leverage AI agents to increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping, AP/AR, invoicing, expense accounting and bank reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing, balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepare financial reports.
• Configure and maintain Business Central (chart of accounts, posting groups, dimensions, VAT, bank accounts, periods, workflows).
• Lead the full migration from QuickBooks to Business Central, including data extraction, mapping, cleansing, trial imports, validation and go‑live.
• Review five years of historical accounting records, identify gaps, correct errors and ensure a traceable audit trail.
• Prepare and file Latvian tax and statutory reports (VAT, corporate tax, payroll, VID/EDS).
• Manage cash‑flow forecasts, budgets, runway monitoring and management reporting.
• Define, supervise and verify AI agents that process documents, prepare transactions, match, reconcile and report.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling the full accounting cycle and tax reporting for European companies, preferably with Latvian requirements.
• Hands‑on experience setting up and configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and executing a complete system migration.
• Ability to translate business needs into accounting configurations and verify postings, reconciliations and reports.
• Experience using AI‑supported automation in finance and supervising its outputs.
• Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills, independent work habits and clear communication in English.
