Field Maintenance Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

We are looking for a Field Maintenance Engineer to join Ignitis Renewables’ new project in Varme (Saldus office). The role involves maintaining and repairing solar, wind and energy storage systems, ensuring reliable operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain and repair electrical equipment such as transformer substations, distribution and communication cabinets, inverters, photovoltaic modules, cables, connectors, weather stations and batteries.
• Perform general upkeep of solar park infrastructure including roads, vegetation, buildings, security systems, fencing and other utilities.
• Prepare and complete maintenance reports, defect logs and related documentation.
• Coordinate contractor activities, manage emergency repairs and equipment shutdowns while ensuring health, safety and equipment integrity.

Required profile

• First‑level higher education in electrical engineering, energy or a related field.
• Valid B electrical safety group certification and a Category B driving licence.
• Proficiency in Latvian (minimum B1) and English (A2/B1).

Required skills

• Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind or energy storage).
• Knowledge of medium‑voltage equipment up to 35 kV and/or high‑voltage equipment up to 330 kV.
