Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Maintenance

About the role

Evolution Latvia is looking for an Electrical Engineer to keep its electrical infrastructure safe, reliable and efficient in Latvia. The role suits someone with experience maintaining electrical equipment, UPS and generator systems, energy metering and technical infrastructure management. In the future, the engineer will take responsibility for facilities in other European locations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the safe, continuous and efficient operation, maintenance and development of electrical installations
• Organise and supervise maintenance, diagnostics and repairs of electrical systems, switchboards and related infrastructure
• Oversee UPS systems and backup generators, including monitoring, testing and readiness for emergencies
• Perform energy metering, measurements and data analysis to find efficiency and cost-saving opportunities
• Diagnose faults, coordinate repairs and manage technical specialists and service providers
• Take part in planning, building, expansion and modernisation of electrical infrastructure projects
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, diagrams and instructions, and ensure compliance with safety requirements and service levels
• Participate in risk assessments, preventive maintenance planning and business continuity work
• Provide technical support outside working hours when needed, and later expand to sites across Europe

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical installation maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with UPS systems and backup generators
• Good knowledge of Latvian and English
• Willingness to travel within Latvia and other European countries

Required skills

• Understanding of power distribution systems and protection solutions
• Experience in energy metering, measurements and data analysis
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Preferred: experience with critical infrastructure, data centres, medium- and low-voltage installations, BMS/EMS systems, power quality measurements, project management and professional certifications
