Chief Accountant – Finance Leader

About the role

Redwire Corporation, a global space and defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead its finance function in Riga. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and robust cost accounting to support the company’s manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with Latvian accounting legislation and tax regulations.
• Coordinate with the State Revenue Service (VID) for timely VAT and corporate tax filings.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, BOM, WIP and finished‑goods accounting.
• Monitor standard vs. actual costing and provide production cost analysis.
• Handle payroll tax reporting and ensure statutory compliance.
• Lead external audit coordination as primary contact for auditors.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and R&D cost tracking, including grant reporting.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team while continuously improving internal controls.

Required profile

• Higher education in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior accounting role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Latvian accounting standards and tax regulations; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Fluent Latvian and good English communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
