Buyer – Purchasing Operations

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Buyer to join our Purchasing team at Tieto. The role focuses on operational purchasing, handling requisitions, converting contracts into catalogs, and ensuring smooth end‑to‑end procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Translate new supplier contracts into purchasing tools, publish catalogs and forms for end users.
• Process purchase requisitions, create and manage purchase orders (POs) from approval to receipt.
• Resolve PO and invoice mismatches, collaborate with accounts payable, project managers and suppliers to ensure timely payment.
• Perform receiving, partial receiving and delivery confirmations against PO lines.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct sanction checks and escalate issues to Category/Sourcing managers.
• Ensure compliance with Tieto procurement policies, local financial controls and manage change requests or project‑related PO adjustments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as a buyer or purchasing specialist in a medium/large organization.
• Experience in IT, software or services purchasing is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and able to meet deadlines.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Source‑to‑Pay systems (e.g., GEP).
