About the role

The Market Participants Audit Administration is looking for a motivated auditor to join its Compliance Audit team. You will help ensure that financial market participants, including credit institutions, financial institutions and crypto‑asset service providers, maintain effective internal control systems that comply with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of financial market participants, such as banks, financial institutions and crypto‑asset service providers.
• Analyse information supplied by institutions on corrective actions taken to address identified deficiencies and discuss contentious issues.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the Bank of Latvia’s on‑site inspection methodology and processes.
• Co‑operate with Latvian law‑enforcement agencies and foreign financial market supervisory authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or second‑level professional higher education in economics, finance, law, mathematics or a related field; final‑year students are welcome.
• Good command of Latvian and English for interaction with international partners.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, responsibility and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of audit principles, methods, standards and audit methodology.
• Understanding of financial technologies, including crypto‑asset service providers.
• IT knowledge and ability to work with artificial‑intelligence tools.
