VMware Architect

About the role

We are looking for a senior VMware Architect to lead the design and automation of our VMware estate. You will work across vSphere, vSAN, SRM, HCX and hybrid cloud integrations to deliver scalable, self‑service infrastructure solutions for our organization.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the automation and self‑service provisioning model for vSphere, including VM provisioning, placement modules and cloud‑init integration.
• Design Infrastructure as Code modules for DRS affinity/anti‑affinity rules, resource pools and vSAN storage policies.
• Define and implement VMware SRM protection groups, recovery plans and HCX site‑pairing, service mesh and migration profiles.
• Collaborate with the Network Architect on NSX‑T segmentation, distributed firewall rules and load‑balancing/NAT configurations.
• Establish integration patterns with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and ensure consistent identity and RBAC across hybrid environments.
• Develop testing and validation approaches for disaster‑recovery and workload‑mobility automation.
• Provide architectural oversight during implementation, pilot onboarding and lifecycle management of VMware modules.

Required profile

• 5+ years of proven VMware architecture experience in enterprise or service‑provider settings.
• Strong background in automating VMware infrastructure with Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.
• Working knowledge of NSX‑T network segmentation and distributed firewall concepts.
• Experience designing disaster‑recovery automation and workload‑migration tooling.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud connectivity, especially Azure VMware Solution and ExpressRoute.
