SAP MDG Technical Architect – Material Master Data

About the role

We are seeking an SAP MDG Technical Architect / SME to design and deliver a robust Material Master Data solution. You will translate functional requirements into scalable technical designs, ensuring governance, workflow, rules, and data quality are consistently applied.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end technical delivery of the SAP MDG solution for Material Master Data.
• Convert functional specifications into MDG technical designs, configurations, and custom developments.
• Define and implement Change Request (DCR) processes, design workflows, and build BRF+ rules for governance and approvals.
• Extend MDG data models and integrate SAP and non‑SAP systems using APIs, IDocs, and web services.
• Assess technical feasibility, propose alternatives, and communicate trade‑offs to stakeholders.
• Set and enforce technical quality standards for stability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement data quality rules, monitor accuracy, and provide analytics‑driven validation.
• Support testing cycles, diagnose gaps, and resolve defects.
• Create training materials and enable users and technical teams for effective adoption.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience with SAP MDG/MDM, specifically Material Master data.
• Strong data governance background across reference and master data.
• Proven ability to work with functional SMEs, manage stakeholders and advise on feasibility.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) and solid documentation/training skills.
