IT Software Asset Manager

About the role

SSI SCHAEFER is building a modern IT Hub in Riga and needs an IT Software Asset Manager to maximise the value of the organisation’s software investments. You will lead strategic and operational Software Asset Management (SAM) practices, ensure licence compliance, optimise costs and provide clear visibility into software usage across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the SAM practice, maintaining accurate software inventory and compliance with licensing obligations.
• Implement and continuously improve SAM processes, policies, guidelines and standards.
• Advise stakeholders on licensing risks, compliance requirements and contractual obligations.
• Provide reporting and insights on software assets, usage, costs and risks to support decision‑making.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for software, maintenance and cloud services.
• Act as the first point of contact for licensing matters across IT, Procurement, Finance and business units.

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Business Administration or a related field.
• Several years of experience in License Management, Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management or IT Procurement.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models and vendor agreements (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Adobe).
• Experience with SAM/ITAM and IT Service Management tools (e.g., Ivanti, ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, USU).
• Customer‑focused mindset with solid governance, compliance and risk‑management knowledge.
• High attention to detail and a data‑driven approach to optimisation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
