Chartered Accountant & Tax Lawyer (Latvia)

About the role

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant who can also act as a Tax Lawyer for our Latvian operations. The role combines full‑cycle accounting with specialised tax‑law advice and will support the company for a 12‑24 month fixed‑term project.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and organise documents in SharePoint, creating clear file descriptions.
• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash‑flow).
• Research financial regulations and EU tax laws to ensure compliance.
• Serve as the single point of contact for all tax‑related matters and liaise with owners and Latvian financial institutions (EDS/SRS/UR.GOV.LV).
• Draft and ready legal documents for stakeholder signatures.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for management.
• Maintain audit‑ready records and manage QuickBooks to streamline processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and provide clear financial updates to the team.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with solid experience in accounting and tax preparation.
• Strong knowledge of EU tax standards and Latvian tax regulations.
• Ability to act as a tax lawyer and handle legal tax documentation.
• Proficient in researching using search engines and AI tools such as ChatGPT.
