Senior Transaction Monitoring Specialist – Card Issuing

About the role

VIALET is building a specialised payment platform and is looking for a senior specialist to lead card‑issuing transaction monitoring. You will work within a fast‑growing AML/CTF team, using advanced forensic tools to detect and prevent financial crime.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, tune and optimise transaction monitoring rules to reduce false positives and improve detection efficiency.
• Use blockchain forensic tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic, Crystal) to trace fund flows and assess counter‑party risk.
• Monitor real‑time and retrospective card transactions, identify suspicious patterns and investigate alerts.
• Conduct background research using sanctions lists, PEP databases and adverse‑media checks.
• Escalate suspicious activity to the MLRO and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external financial institutions on case investigations and regulatory queries.

Required profile

• University degree in law, finance, economics or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in transaction monitoring, preferably with card‑issuing environments.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, FATF recommendations and EU legislation.
• Fluency in Lithuanian and good English; additional languages are a plus.
