Director of Rooms – Hotel Operations Leader

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the entire Rooms Division, ensuring seamless operation of Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Guest Relations and related areas. Reporting to senior hotel management, this role drives financial performance, guest satisfaction and team development within a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in strategic planning, prepare forecasts, budgets and manage full P&L for the Rooms Division.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management and Sales to maximise occupancy, rates and overall revenue.
• Control labour costs and duty rosters while maintaining high service standards.
• Recruit, train, coach and evaluate staff; design career development plans for high‑potential talent.
• Maintain high visibility with guests and staff, lead departmental meetings and drive engagement.
• Achieve minimum 90% scores on mystery‑guest inspections; conduct daily walk‑throughs and room inspections.
• Work with Fire & Safety teams to implement and communicate safety procedures.

Required profile

• Vocational training or degree in hospitality management.
• Hands‑on operational leadership style with a “lead by example” mindset.
• At least 1 year of comparable experience in luxury hospitality, preferably in front office or housekeeping.
• Self‑starter with strong ownership, detail‑orientation and excellent communication.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); Latvian and Russian language skills are a plus.
