Compliance Officer – Cryptoasset Regulatory Specialist
Paybis
Job description
About the role
The role owns the crypto‑asset side of Paybis’ regulatory pipeline, including the UK FCA crypto‑asset file, post‑authorisation implementation of the MiCA CASP licence and the design of Travel Rule and blockchain‑analytics frameworks. You will report directly to the Global Chief of Compliance and focus on drafting policies, risk assessments and regulator‑facing documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the live UK FCA crypto‑asset file, handling RFI cycles, supplementary submissions and remediation, and guide the transition to the new FSMA crypto‑asset authorisation regime.
- Implement and evidence obligations under the MiCA CASP licence, covering conflicts of interest, custody, market‑abuse detection and other prudential safeguards.
- Design regulator‑facing documentation for the Travel Rule framework and blockchain‑analytics controls, coordinating with the AML team for tooling.
- Produce DORA/ICT‑risk documentation for the CASP perimeter and conduct regulatory assessments of new crypto‑assets, chains and custody arrangements.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of regulatory compliance experience, with at least 3 years in a licensed crypto‑asset business.
- Hands‑on experience delivering a crypto‑asset authorisation (MiCA/CASP, UK FCA or comparable VASP regime) through submission and regulator review.
- Proven ability to author substantive regulatory documents independently and respond to regulator feedback.
- Working knowledge of the Travel Rule in practice, blockchain analytics, DORA, AMLD/FATF standards and related governance requirements.
- Fluent professional English with strong written drafting skills.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of MiCA/CASP and UK FCA crypto‑asset authorisation frameworks.
- Practical expertise with the Travel Rule and blockchain‑analytics methodology.
- Familiarity with DORA ICT‑risk requirements and AML/FATF compliance standards.
What we offer
- Remote‑first work model with high autonomy and minimal micromanagement.
- Direct collaboration with the Global Chief of Compliance and senior leadership on a high‑impact regulatory portfolio.
- Medical insurance, L&D budget, performance‑based bonus and English classes.
- Stable, self‑funded fintech environment without investor pressure and regular team‑building activities.
