Unreal Engine / C++ Engineer (Core Team)

About the role

Evolution, a multinational online gaming company with more than 1,000 engineers across eight engineering centres, is looking for Unreal Engine / C++ engineers to join its core team behind the virtual production studios. Instead of working on individual games, you will build and maintain the shared C++ foundations, plugins and components used across all projects, and drive the research and development that improves the services as a whole.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain shared C++ plugins, components and actors used across all games
• Work with other teams to improve server setups and the communication between applications and backend services
• Collaborate with game artists to support their work and improve shared tooling and workflows
• Drive R&D efforts to improve services and technology overall
• Maintain and support existing projects

Required profile

• Passion for software development and enjoyment of writing and maintaining code
• Experience building reusable, maintainable code intended for use across multiple projects
• Willingness to invest effort to become an even better developer

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of C/C++ and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5, with a strong emphasis on C++ over Blueprints
• Experience with Git
• Nice to have: unit and automated testing with Unreal Engine, HTTP/Web Sockets, geometric modelling and linear algebra, plugin or shared library design, and real-time 3D visuals (materials, animations, lighting)

What we offer

• Salary of 4,500 to 8,000 EUR gross per month
• Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the Riga office, 2 days remote
• Health insurance, modern office, development opportunities, hackathons and other perks
• Agile (Scrum/Kanban), JIRA, Confluence, GitLab source control and CI, and contemporary development hardware and software
