Test Engineer (Laboratory) – ATEX & CPR

About the role

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our laboratory team in Olaine. The role focuses on testing explosion‑protected equipment and assessing fire reaction classes of construction materials, supporting certification and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform tests on ATEX‑rated equipment according to EN 60079 series, including surface temperature and flame‑proof enclosure assessments.
• Determine fire reaction class for construction materials following EN 13501‑1 and related methods (EN ISO 1716, EN 13823).
• Prepare detailed test reports and expert opinions for certification purposes.
• Maintain quality‑management documentation in line with LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and adherence to laboratory safety requirements.

Required profile

• Higher engineering or natural sciences degree.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an accredited laboratory; ATEX or CPR experience preferred.
• Conversational Latvian and sufficient English for technical documentation.
• Strong responsibility, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EN 60079 series.
• Knowledge of EN 13501‑1 series.
• Familiarity with EN ISO 1716 and EN 13823 test methods.
• Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 quality standards.
