Senior Software Engineer – Harness Team

About the role

Kimchi is the AI platform inside CAST AI, enabling companies to run large language models on Kubernetes clusters. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own end‑to‑end features across the stack, ship projects in 1‑4 weeks and collaborate directly with product and engineering teams to solve novel problems.

Key responsibilities

• Architect planner/executor/evaluator pipelines, combining reasoning, fast execution and evaluation models.
• Manage agent memory and context, including state persistence, context compaction and tool‑call offloading.
• Own the harness surface – TUI, MCP integrations and telemetry.
• Work directly with users and internal colleagues to identify, understand and fix pain points.

Required profile

• Production experience with Go or Typescript; strong systems‑programming skills in a comparable language are acceptable.
• Expertise in debugging, optimization and performance‑tuning, including query profiling, index design and database tuning beyond ORM usage.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and CI/CD/DevOps practices.
• Startup mindset: adaptable, proactive and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven track record of driving a complex project end‑to‑end.
