Senior Lawyer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Ignitis Renewables is seeking a Senior Lawyer to provide daily legal support and to contribute to green‑field renewable energy projects in Latvia. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and drive the successful execution of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal assistance for renewable energy projects, covering wind turbine (WTG), photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) supply, EPC, BoP, and TCM agreements.
• Draft, review and negotiate construction contracts, including FIDIC clauses, and manage claims.
• Handle environmental, commercial and general legal matters related to project development.
• Develop and implement internal procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk mitigation.
• Liaise with legal advisors, regulators, management and other stakeholders on relevant legal issues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law.
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience, preferably in construction, real estate or energy sectors.
• Proficiency in English and experience working with international teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on supporting internal business clients.
• Ability to prioritize tasks independently and devise effective solutions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EPC and BoP contracts.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contract terms and claims management.
• Understanding of environmental and commercial law in the energy sector.
