Senior Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric & Power BI

About the role

Emergn is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape its future by building robust, scalable data solutions on the Microsoft ecosystem. You will work with a global team of experts, delivering clean, trustworthy data for reporting and machine‑learning pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components such as Data Factory, Lakehouse, and Synapse Pipelines.
• Develop and run Apache Spark jobs in Fabric Notebooks for large‑scale data processing, cleansing, and transformation.
• Create efficient SQL‑based solutions for data modeling, warehousing, and analytics layers.
• Automate data flows and apply advanced logic with Python and PySpark.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable datasets.
• Establish data quality, lineage, and governance processes across the data stack.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert on Microsoft data workflows and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric components (Spark Notebooks, Data Factory, Synapse).
• Strong understanding of Apache Spark via PySpark.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and optimization.
• Solid Python programming skills.
• Experience with cloud‑native data solutions, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of data‑warehouse design, dimensional modeling and Lakehouse patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
