Security Software Engineer – Cryptography & Payment Platform

About the role

This position is for a Security Software Engineer focused on cryptography and payment‑platform security. The role is hybrid and supports teams in London, Porto, and Riga, helping a regulated fintech scale its security engineering through automation and platform thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate payment cryptography solutions, including HSM operations, key ceremonies, PCI PIN handling, DUKPT, and TR‑31/34 key lifecycle management.
• Build automated application security capabilities at scale, moving away from manual review queues.
• Develop pipeline security controls such as policy‑as‑code, CI/CD safeguards, SAST tooling, and compliance automation.
• Create and maintain security platforms/services that enable developers to ship faster and safer.
• Apply cloud security best practices, primarily on AWS.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering combined with security engineering.
• Strong Java development background; experience with Go is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with payment cryptography (PKI, HSM, key management).
• Proven expertise in cloud security, especially AWS.
