Scala Tech Lead

About the role

The Tech Lead role at GR8_TECH drives technical excellence for a B2B iGaming platform, combining hands‑on development with architectural leadership to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own high‑level system design and architecture decisions for features, services and platform components.
• Perform technical evaluation of tasks, initiatives and projects, including feasibility and trade‑offs.
• Collaborate with Team Leads and other Tech Leads on roadmap alignment and incident resolution.
• Contribute as an individual contributor to critical parts of the system while ensuring code quality, reusability and scalability.
• Provide effort estimations, support planning activities and act as a technical authority for the Scala/Java stack.
• Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing and help define personal development plans.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or lead roles.
• Proven expertise in Scala and Java.
• Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems in product‑based or B2B environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong system design, architectural thinking and effective communication.
• Upper‑Intermediate English and Ukrainian or Russian.
