RAMS Manager – Railway Infrastructure Project

About the role

The client, RB Rail, is seeking an experienced RAMS Manager to support the Rail Baltica high‑speed railway project across the Baltic region. The role involves leading reliability, availability, maintainability and safety activities for complex railway subsystems and ensuring compliance with European standards.

Key responsibilities

• Leading the definition, allocation, and complex analysis of all RAMS requirements and aspects of the project, including ENE and CCS subsystems.
• Applying RAMS assurance methods, performing or reviewing Preliminary Hazard Assessments, RAM analyses, and other deliverables.
• Setting up and managing internal processes for RAMS assurance and safety management throughout the project.
• Participating in functional concept designs, developing and reviewing technical solutions, specifications and cost estimates.
• Assigning and overseeing work produced by designers or suppliers, developing scopes of work and engineering fee estimates.
• Reviewing design documents, calculations, estimates and specifications to ensure compliance with RAMS requirements.
• Cooperating with National Safety Authorities, the European Railway Agency and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience as a RAMS Engineer in the railway industry, preferably at system integration level.
• Experience on international high‑speed line projects involving civil & track works, signalling or energy systems.
• Fluent spoken and written English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EN 50126, EN 50716, EN 50129, ISO 31000.
• Familiarity with ERTMS and EU Directives 787, 789 and Regulation 402.
• Proficiency in RAM methods: RAM analysis, LDA, DFMEA, PFMEA, FMEA/FMECA, RCM, FRACAS, RAM demonstration.
• Experience with safety risk methods: PHA, SHA, IHA, FTA, HRA, safety case development.
