Purchaser – Spare Parts Buyer

About the role

A respected aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul company is looking for a Purchaser (Spare Parts Buyer) to work in its Engine Repair Shop. The role covers sourcing and buying spare parts and tools for the aviation market.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify prospective suppliers and buy components and tools (including rentals)
• Analyse spare parts documentation and evaluate price, quality, service support, availability and reliability
• Arrange materials transportation and logistics
• Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms with suppliers
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and monitor open orders and deliveries
• Ensure on-time delivery of parts through cooperation with other departments
• Enter, extract and interpret data in automated information systems and comply with company policies and regulations

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English
• Higher education
• Ability to plan own time, set priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Team player who can also work independently, with precision and a strong sense of responsibility

Required skills

• Good computer skills, including MS Office
• Ability to work with computerised inventory control systems
