Java Developer – Payments (Baltic IT Team)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join Swedbank’s Payments Baltic IT team. You will help design, develop and maintain high‑quality Java applications that support our payment services across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications using the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC).
• Deploy, manage and scale applications on OpenShift container platform.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design and ship new features.
• Use GitHub for version control and conduct regular code reviews.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to extend application functionality.
• Implement messaging solutions with Kafka, MQ or RabbitMQ.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in development and production environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency with Spring Framework.
• Hands‑on experience with OpenShift.
• Proficient in GitHub for version control.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, MQ or RabbitMQ.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.
