Frontend Developer – Smart TV Apps (React/TypeScript)

About the role

We are looking for a Frontend Developer for Smart TV to design, build, test, improve and maintain the Swisscom blue TV smart TV App, a React‑based web application running on Samsung, LG, Philips smart TVs and Android WebView‑based TV Boxes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise UI‑heavy front‑ends within a large‑scale NX monorepo using React, TypeScript and Redux.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, backend engineers and streaming specialists in a cross‑functional team.
• Test deliveries and ensure performance, reliability and visual quality on constrained smart‑TV platforms.
• Contribute to technical architecture, state‑management patterns, testing strategies and engineering best practices.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and participate in agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building UI‑heavy web applications where design, performance and reliability matter.
• Strong frontend engineering background with React, TypeScript and Redux in a large‑scale monorepo.
• Ownership mindset and ability to think beyond the boundaries of a ticket.
• Professional communication skills in English within a cross‑functional environment.

Required skills

• React, TypeScript, Redux, NX monorepo.
• State‑management techniques: async thunks, entity adapters, memoised selectors.
• Performance optimisation: code splitting, virtualization, lazy loading, bundle analysis.
• CI/CD with GitLab CI, testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress), Storybook.
• Smart TV platforms: Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV; adaptive DASH video players (Bitmovin, ExoPlayer).
