Embedded Software Developer (UAS)

About the role

Redwire Corporation is looking for an Embedded Software Developer to join its UAV and defense technology team in Riga. You will design, develop, and test firmware for microcontroller‑based systems that power autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller platforms.
• Design real‑time applications using an RTOS.
• Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
• Integrate and extend PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot software.
• Apply software development methodologies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Use Git for version control and collaborate on code management.
• Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware‑software integration.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues and bugs.
• Maintain technical documentation and stay current with embedded system trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with microcontrollers and real‑time operating systems.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN communication protocols.
• Preferred experience with PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot software.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and Git version control.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and teamwork skills.
