Electrical Safety Inspector

About the role

The Electrical Safety Inspector conducts inspections of electrical wiring, apparatus, and installations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. The position operates under general supervision and may perform related duties as required. The role contributes to public safety by ensuring that all electrical work meets established safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of electric wiring, electric signs, and the installation of electric motors and other equipment to verify compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
• Inspect finished work and work in process for safety and code adherence.
• Examine permits for the installation of electrical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections performed.
• Report violations and non‑compliance with applicable regulations.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings and recommendations.
• Ensure that all electrical installations meet current safety standards.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve identified issues.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant electrical codes and regulatory changes.
