Electrical Design Engineer – Substations (Railway Projects)

About the role

Our client, a leading railway infrastructure provider in the Baltic region, is expanding its core team with an Electrical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for the complete design of high‑ and medium‑voltage substations supporting major railway projects over the next five years.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive designs for high and medium voltage substations from generic concepts through detailed engineering.
• Coordinate physical layout and equipment arrangement, ensuring compliance with stakeholder and third‑party requirements.
• Perform and review calculations such as equipment sizing, grounding grids, auxiliary services and short‑circuit studies.
• Provide back‑office support during construction and commissioning, collaborating with assembly and commissioning teams.
• Ensure designs meet local legislation, standards, and permitting requirements for HV system hot‑commissioning.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in substation design and related calculations.
• Solid knowledge of the electrical/substation sector and relevant local regulations.
• Proactive, results‑oriented attitude.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
