About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks an external consultant to design and deliver experiential language learning pathways for children aged 2‑6 with migratory backgrounds. The role focuses on strengthening Italian language skills while engaging caregivers through the "language of care" approach.
Key responsibilities
- Co‑develop session plans, tools and activity guidelines for seven learning pathways, tailored to different developmental stages.
- Ensure curriculum is inclusive, culturally sensitive and accessible to families with diverse linguistic backgrounds.
- Facilitate or oversee delivery of each 20‑hour pathway (five between June‑August, two between September‑December).
- Track progress, collect qualitative feedback and document best practices, challenges and lessons learned.
- Liaise with local partners, informal education services and early childhood centres to co‑design activities.
- Participate in coordination meetings with IRC staff and stakeholders and align activities with local referral pathways.
- Produce adapted curriculum, monitoring tools, interim updates and a final report with recommendations.
Required profile
- Academic background in education, psychology, social work, pedagogy or a related field.
- Professional or field experience (internships, short‑term roles, project collaboration) in early childhood development.
