Data Scientist – Risk and Fraud Detection (ML)

About the role

Evolution, a multinational online gaming company, is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join its Data Science team in Riga. You will design and develop machine learning solutions for risk assessment and fraud detection, working with data-driven insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams and deploying scalable models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise machine learning models for fraud detection and risk assessment
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to choose the best ML approaches for real problems
• Collaborate with data engineers to source, preprocess and structure high-quality datasets
• Define performance metrics and evaluation frameworks
• Train, test, monitor and refine models continuously
• Help deploy models to production and extend existing ML libraries and frameworks

Required profile

• University degree in a numerical field (machine learning, statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering)
• At least 4 years of experience in data science, machine learning or a related field
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills
• Nice to have: Scala or Java, big data frameworks (Spark, Athena, ClickHouse), production deployment and AWS experience

• Linear algebra, statistics and probabilistic modelling
• Python, SQL and ML libraries such as Scikit-Learn and PyTorch
