Core Engineer

About the role

You will join the Core Network Engineering team at Webbing, working hands‑on with a live mobile core infrastructure that spans global roaming, MVNO operations and an active 5G‑SA roadmap. The position is both technical and operational, requiring you to troubleshoot real network issues across 3G, 4G and 5G Standalone, own tickets end‑to‑end and lead integrations on a live production network.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve network incidents across 2G/3G/4G/5G core elements.
• Own tickets from creation to closure, ensuring timely resolution.
• Lead integration projects and network element deployments in a live environment.
• Configure and troubleshoot PGW, PCRF, GTP Proxy and related interfaces.
• Monitor and analyse Diameter and Radius flows, GTP‑C/U traffic, and roaming procedures.
• Participate in 24x7 on‑call rotation for live network support.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience as a core network engineer.
• Deep understanding of MNO/MVNO architecture and end‑to‑end GTP flow design.
• Hands‑on experience with 3GPP standards for 2G/3G/4G and 5G‑SA.
• Ability to work under pressure during live incidents and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Team player with strong ownership mindset.

Required skills

• GTP‑C, GTP‑U, CUPS, bearer lifecycle and session management.
• Diameter & Radius routing, realms, application IDs (Gx, Gy, S6a) and AAA flows.
• 5G‑SA components: AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, PCF.
• GRX routing, IPX interconnect operations and roaming procedures (IR.21).
• PGW configuration, PCRF Gx interface, policy management.
• GTP Proxy interception and roaming traffic steering.
• Basic scripting (Python or similar) and API familiarity.
