Cooling Commissioning Engineer (Data Center & Critical Infrastructure)

About the role

As a Cooling Commissioning Engineer you will deliver on‑site services for Schneider Electric customers across Europe, focusing on complex data‑center and critical‑infrastructure cooling projects. You will be responsible for commissioning, diagnosing, and optimizing a range of cooling equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform start‑up and commissioning of air‑ and water‑cooled chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, fan walls and liquid‑cooling systems.
• Evaluate installation quality of pipework, hydraulic circuits and overall system conditions.
• Conduct on‑site adjustments, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions to achieve optimal performance.
• Collaborate with Schneider Electric service engineers and partners during site interventions.
• Document work, label and return defective parts, and train customers on basic equipment operation.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in HVAC or cooling equipment commissioning/field service.
• Ability to work independently with clear objectives and a strong safety mindset.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 70 % of the time.
• Fluent English communication (minimum B2 level).

Required skills

• HVAC cooling principles and equipment (air‑cooled chillers, water‑cooled chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, fan walls, liquid‑cooling systems).
• Precision cooling knowledge (advantageous).
• Experience with generators, fire detection and fire‑suppression systems (advantageous).
• Root‑cause analysis and technical diagnostics.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Acrobat and AutoCAD.
