Blade Repair Engineer

About the role

Aerones is seeking a Blade Repair Engineer to join its Blade Repair & Operations Excellence (BROE) team. The role supports the full lifecycle of wind turbine blade services, from inspection data collection to repair execution and quality reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Interface daily with the Operations Management Center to feed quality data into weekly operational reviews and board‑level reporting.
• Classify blade anomalies, assess severity, and document damage according to commercial wind‑farm inspection standards.
• Develop repair recommendations, define scopes of work, and produce cost estimates for blade repair projects.
• Apply leading‑edge protection materials and ice‑phobic coatings, including surface preparation, laminate systems, and top‑coat application.
• Execute NCR processes, root‑cause analysis (5‑Why, fishbone), and CAPA workflows to ensure continuous improvement.
• Analyse QC data to identify failure patterns across materials, teams, and sites and translate findings into engineering actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Composites Technology or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in wind‑turbine blade repair, inspection or related services, preferably with an OEM or specialist service provider.
• Deep technical knowledge of blade damage types (erosion, delamination, cracking, disbonding, lightning damage, manufacturing defects) and corresponding corrective techniques.
