About the role

Tele2 Latvia is looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to join its Technical Department. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of voice communication core systems, ensuring high availability and performance across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, test, monitor and maintain voice core systems.
• Plan and execute software updates, security patches and configuration changes.
• Design, test and roll out voice services and related technical projects.
• Monitor incidents, analyse root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Track system performance and load, optimizing capacity as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in telecommunications or IT systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of mobile voice and VoIP networks, routing, protocols and operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with 3GPP IMS, MSS, MGW, SBC, HSS and IP‑PBX solutions.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and scripting for automation.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure and collaborate across departments.
