Tax Manager – Fuel Trading (Europe)

About the role

Circle K’s Global Tax team is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee tax matters for its fuel trading subsidiary, CKETS. The position can be based in Riga, Dublin or The Hague and will focus on European fuel trading activities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Global Tax team to develop tax‑efficient solutions aligned with group strategies.
• Advise the CKETS trading team on direct and indirect tax implications of fuel trading operations.
• Oversee VAT filing, coordinate with service providers and ensure local compliance.
• Manage corporate income tax (CIT) calculations, quarterly provisions and filings, aligning local, shared‑service and global teams.
• Review contracts and projects for tax law compliance.
• Stay current on tax regulations and disseminate knowledge across accounting, business and tax functions.
• Assist in preparing local transfer‑pricing documentation, Country‑by‑Country (CbC) reports and foreign affiliate tax filings.
• Serve as primary contact for tax authorities, handling CIT/VAT audits and liaising with statutory auditors and advisors.
• Identify risk‑mitigation initiatives and capture tax optimisation opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong background in corporate and indirect tax, preferably within the fuel or energy sector.
• Experience working with multinational tax teams and shared‑service environments.
• Ability to interpret complex tax legislation and apply it to commercial transactions.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the capacity to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
