Spare Parts Planning Team Leader

About the role

The Spare Parts Planning Team Leader will head a small team of planners and administrators, ensuring that spare parts are available throughout the product lifecycle in a cost‑efficient and sustainable manner. This position combines coaching, operational direction, and data‑driven decision‑making to maintain service continuity for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Spare Parts Supply Chain Planners.
• Oversee demand and supply planning for spare parts across all product categories and markets.
• Act as escalation point for critical shortages, late deliveries, or launch‑related issues and drive cross‑functional resolution.
• Monitor and improve team KPIs such as forecast accuracy, backorder rate, service level and inventory turns.
• Continuously optimise planning processes, MRP parameters and system usage.
• Collaborate with Service, Customer Service, Logistics and Warehouse teams to align supply plans with business needs.
• Provide expertise on spare parts lifecycle management, from introduction to obsolescence.
• Prepare consolidated reports and insights for senior management.
• Drive cost‑optimisation initiatives in transportation, sourcing and inventory holding.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in supply‑chain planning with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with supply‑chain risk management or supplier performance monitoring.

Required skills

• SAP MM and MRP knowledge.
• Demand‑planning tools.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, look‑ups, data analysis).
• Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Lean, Six Sigma or comparable process‑improvement methodologies.
