Senior Solution Architect

About the role

Emergn is looking for a Senior Solution Architect to design scalable architectures, optimise system flows and ensure technical quality for client projects in Riga, Latvia.

Key responsibilities

• Own solution architecture for bids and delivery projects, including scope, target architecture, integration design, non‑functional requirements, effort and cost estimates, and risk management.
• Write and defend the technical part of RFI/RFP responses in Latvian.
• Act as technical lead for delivery teams, guiding design decisions, conducting architecture reviews and enforcing code and quality gates.
• Design integrations across cloud, on‑premises and legacy systems, including state registries and shared platforms.
• Assess where AI is appropriate and design solutions accordingly.
• Present and justify architecture to client business owners, procurement committees and technical staff.

Required profile

• 5+ years in solution or software architecture, with at least two enterprise‑scale systems taken from design to production.
• Strong software engineering background and hands‑on credibility with development teams.
• Deep expertise in one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Extensive experience in system and API integration, messaging, event‑driven design and backward compatibility.
• Solid understanding of security and identity architecture, including authentication, authorisation, secrets management, network segmentation and data classification.
• Proven ability to design for performance, availability, scalability, cost optimisation and operability.
• Experience estimating work, committing to delivery schedules and holding teams to quality standards.
