Senior FPGA Team Lead (Telecom & Space)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FPGA Team Lead to drive the architecture, design, and implementation of cutting‑edge FPGA‑based systems for telecommunications and space applications. This hands‑on technical leadership role works closely with RF, hardware, software, DSP, and systems engineering teams to deliver high‑performance solutions from concept through validation and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex FPGA‑based systems.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to FPGA engineers.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware, software, and systems teams to make system‑level technical decisions.
• Design and implement advanced DSP algorithms and high‑speed digital data paths.
• Work with high‑speed interfaces such as SERDES and transceivers and influence clocking architecture decisions.
• Oversee the full FPGA development lifecycle, including lab bring‑up, validation, debugging, and performance optimisation.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware/FPGA issues in a collaborative engineering environment.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of hands‑on experience in FPGA design and development.
• Strong expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• VHDL, Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
• DSP algorithm development.
• SERDES, high‑speed transceivers, clocking architectures, and high‑speed digital links.
• FPGA bring‑up, debugging, validation and performance optimisation.
