About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Senior Director to lead its Global Policy and Solutions function. This senior leader will shape high‑impact policy strategies, develop pragmatic solutions, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to advance the organization’s humanitarian mission worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a global team of policy experts, ensuring cohesive and timely policy outputs such as reports and briefs.
- Collaborate with program, advocacy, communications, and senior leadership teams to identify policy challenges and design targeted solutions.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with external experts, innovators, and funding reform advocates.
- Support the VP of Policy & Advocacy in setting policy priorities and aligning them with the IRC’s strategic agenda.
- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO, COO, and President’s Office on policy‑related decisions.
Required profile
- Extensive experience leading policy or advocacy teams in a complex, multinational environment.
- Proven ability to translate research and expertise into actionable, high‑impact policy solutions.
- Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Track record of building effective partnerships across sectors.
