Senior Compliance Officer – Regulatory Focus

About the role

Paybis is a global fintech operating at the intersection of crypto and traditional payments. As a Senior Compliance Officer with a regulatory focus, you will draft regulator‑ready policies, frameworks and application materials, and support AML/CFT and sanctions compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and maintain internal policies, procedures, risk assessments and governance documents.
• Contribute to licence applications, regulatory projects and prepare responses to regulator RFIs.
• Provide compliance advice on new products, partners, jurisdictions and outsourcing arrangements.
• Monitor regulatory developments, conduct gap analyses and coordinate remediation actions.
• Support regulatory reporting, audits, inspections and track implementation of commitments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience, including at least 3 years in regulated payments, e‑money, crypto‑asset or comparable fintech.
• Hands‑on knowledge of at least one authorisation framework (e.g., UK EMI, EEA PI, MiCA/CASP).
• Proven ability to author substantive regulatory documents independently.
• Strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and high autonomy.
• Fluent professional English and ability to work within European business hours.

Required skills

• AML/CFT and sanctions compliance.
• Customer due‑diligence (CDD/KYB) and transaction‑monitoring processes.
• Blockchain analytics and case‑management controls.
• Tools such as Sumsub, ComplyAdvantage, Scorechain, Fireblocks.
• Knowledge of AMLD/FATF standards, outsourcing and governance requirements.
