Senior AI/Computer Vision Engineer

About the role

Ubiquiti is looking for a Senior AI/Computer Vision Engineer to design, develop and ship AI systems from problem definition through data collection, model training, validation and edge deployment. This hands‑on role bridges research and production, integrating deep‑learning models into C++ pipelines that power millions of devices worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own AI and computer vision projects end‑to‑end, from technical definition to production deployment.
• Translate product needs into system, data, model and evaluation requirements.
• Define data collection, annotation and validation strategies.
• Train, optimize and benchmark deep‑learning models for vision and multimodal applications.
• Optimize models for edge devices, balancing latency, memory, throughput and accuracy.
• Integrate models into C++ inference pipelines and collaborate with software and product teams to ship reliable AI features at scale.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years building and shipping computer‑vision or applied‑AI systems.
• Hands‑on experience with detection, classification, segmentation, tracking or multimodal perception.
• Experience in model evaluation, deployment and production support, especially on edge or embedded environments.
• Fluent in English; Latvian language proficiency is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming.
• Proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Solid C++ development for production pipelines.
• Model optimisation tools such as ONNX, TensorRT, OpenVINO or TFLite.
• MLOps tools like MLflow, Weights & Biases or DVC.
