About the role

The radiology assistant supports the operation of a linear electron accelerator and CT scanner in an oncology clinic, ensuring safe and accurate preparation for each radiation therapy or imaging procedure.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the linear electron accelerator, CT scanner and ancillary equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Verify patient identification in the oncology information system before each treatment or scan.
• Prepare patients and equipment for pre‑therapy examinations.
• Check patient readiness and follow radiographer instructions for radiation therapy or CT procedures.
• Assist in positioning and immobilisation of patients prior to each session.
• Communicate with patients during treatment, providing education and consultation within competence.
• Operate radiology information, image archiving and communication systems.
• Collaborate with radiographers, radiation oncologists and medical physicists.

Required profile

• First‑level higher professional or short‑cycle higher professional education qualifying as a radiology assistant.
• Preferred certification in radiology assistance specialty.
• Registration in the medical personnel register.
• Prior experience in the specialty is desirable.
• Proficiency in the state language.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High precision and sense of responsibility.
