About the role
The Protection Officer (Localisation) leads the localisation workstream within the Protection Analysis Unit, ensuring that protection analysis is grounded in community‑level perspectives and ethically collected data. Reporting to the Senior Protection Analysis Manager, the role partners with local NGOs and community‑based organisations to strengthen data collection, analysis and advocacy across the Ukraine response.
Key responsibilities
- Set clear priorities and define partner‑focused ways of working to align localisation objectives with protection analysis needs.
- Provide functional guidance on ethical engagement, responsible data practices and community‑based protection analysis.
- Identify strategic risks, opportunities and emerging challenges related to partner capacity, access and community representation, and elevate them to senior management.
- Support identification, onboarding and capacity‑strengthening of local partners, promoting consistent data collection practices.
- Oversee the quality and reliability of partner‑contributed data and ensure it informs evidence‑based programmatic decisions.
- Foster collaborative relationships with the Protection Analysis Officer and other stakeholders to integrate community insights into analytical products.
