Flight Data Analysis Engineer

About the role

Redwire Defense Tech is looking for a data‑driven engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical or aerospace systems to turn complex telemetry datasets into actionable insights. You will support root‑cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement for advanced uncrewed aircraft systems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze system‑ and component‑level telemetry to identify performance trends, anomalies, and failure root causes.
• Parse, visualize, and interpret large multi‑channel time‑series datasets from onboard sensors.
• Use Python, MATLAB, or similar tools to model mechanical, electrical, and thermal performance data.
• Correlate data across subsystems (thermal, vibration, actuator, structural, power) to reconstruct system behavior.
• Own the non‑conformity management process through stage D4 and develop evidence‑based conclusions for RCCA activities.
• Collaborate with design, reliability, and test engineering teams to validate findings and implement solutions.
• Produce technical reports, plots, and executive summaries for engineering and leadership.
• Recommend enhancements to data logging, instrumentation, and analysis methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in system testing, reliability engineering, or telemetry‑based performance analysis.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or comparable data‑analysis tools.
• Strong analytical mindset with practical understanding of vibration, dynamics, thermal and structural behavior.
• Ability to extract insights from noisy or incomplete data and communicate findings clearly.
