Embedded Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join Redwire’s R&D team in Riga. You will design, develop, maintain and optimise embedded software for electro‑optical surveillance systems used in aerospace and defence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in C/C++ for microcontroller‑based systems.
• Maintain software architecture and coding standards according to company guidelines.
• Manage source code with Git and perform debugging, testing, verification and fault diagnosis.
• Write drivers and interfaces for peripherals such as GPIO, ADC, UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, PWM and timers.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems and test engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software development at junior, mid‑senior or senior level.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and familiarity with real‑time embedded systems.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.

• Microcontroller peripherals: GPIO, ADC, UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, PWM, timers.
• RTOS environments.
• Python scripting.
• Hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Basic knowledge of image processing and UAV/robotics concepts.
