Embedded Software Developer

About the role

Redwire Corporation is seeking a talented Embedded Software Developer to join its Riga team. You will design, develop, and test firmware for microcontroller‑based UAV and defense systems, working closely with hardware engineers and leveraging cutting‑edge autopilot platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller‑based systems.
• Design real‑time applications using an RTOS.
• Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
• Integrate and extend PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot software.
• Apply software development methodologies and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Use Git for version control and collaborate on code management.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware‑software integration.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues and bugs.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging embedded technologies.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with microcontrollers and RTOS environments.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN communication protocols.
• Experience with PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot software is preferred.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
